IE is dead; Long live FireFox!
I have been using Mozilla FireFox for over 6 months now, initially as a backup browser or just for the sake of trying out an alternative. But last month, I made it the default browser, leaving IE (Internet Explorer to the uninitiated) to browse only Microsoft sites such as Outlook Web Access and the ones heavy on ActiveX.

Madras er Chennai
Many times I have been asked about the renaming of Madras to Chennai. People have always remarked that the renaming has been totally in contrast to Bombay becoming Mumbai and Calcutta becoming Kolkata. While the latter two are just different pronounciations of the same name, Chennai and its earlier name have been seen as unrelated.

Swades - Lets go home
I watched Swades last weekend and found it very watchable. It was free from the usual Masala that Bollywood movies contain and had a message too. Shah Rukh, I thought was very toned down and did a pretty good job. The movie did not move at a frenetic pace as many movies recently do. The songs were melodious and did not seem out of place.
