NanoReviews: My Twitter Tumblr Mashup
I was impressed by the concept of micro-reviews: short reviews written as tweets (twitter messages) in 140 characters or less. After seeing them in action at the MicroReviews site, I decided to try and implement something similar just for fun. The idea was simple -
For reviewers:
Write reviews as tweets in the following format @ureview itemReviewed; comments; rating (out of 5)
Send them as...

TumbleJ - Java API for Tumblr
I was searching for a Java version of the Tumblr API but was unable to find one, so decided to write a simple API.
TumbleJ is a simple Java class that presently writes a text post to tumblr. It creates a HTTP POST based on the Tumblr API parameters and posts it to Tumblr. Tags can also be set. The code and docs are available here.
I might add methods for the other type of posts (audio etc), if...
Bought a Nokia E51 after comparing it with the N82. The N82 had a larger screen & great camera but E51 had a nice price- 8k lesser than N82.

WiCamp (BarCamp) Chennai 2008
I attended WiCamp Chennai mainly to find out what unconferences were and if possible, to network with people. The first objective was achieved and I was happy to see the informal atmosphere. The topic of the camp was innovation and was covered well. I was pleasantly surprised to see people with industry experience similar to mine, start their own companies. All of them had great ideas for their...

iphone base model would cost $199 but in India its expected to be ~Rs.22k, ~14k more for an unlocked version is too much.
Sometime back it was mentioned around 26k

Unique Gurgaon!
I am in Gurgaon on a work related visit. Here are some of my initial thoughts on the city.
The number of cars on the road are far higher than the number of 2-wheelers, very uncharacteristic of Indian cities. The car:2-wheeler ratio is approximately 8:1.
Auto rickshaws are non-existent, buses are far and few.
City roads and highways are wide and seem well planned
Lots of high class, well...
Landed in Delhi last night close to midnight; the temperature was 32c! And I thought Chennai was hot.
Looks like Plurk’s arrival is being spread through tweets; everyone is either looking at it or testing it. I’ve resisted the urge to signup.
Looking at: Plurk.com ( http://www.plurk.com/main )

Congrats to Shane Warne and Rajasthan Royals! A well-deserved win! No shame for Chennai Super Kings, who played very well too. Great final!

Tata Sky Sucks!
How can a TV service suddenly increase the subscription fee and stop airing channels? That is what Tata Sky is doing. Their helpdesk is unreachable - all their numbers are busy. This is the height of complacency especially when their competitor DishTV has made its set top box free. With such poor customer service, it will only be a matter of time when customers will desert Tata Sky to move to Dish...

Yelagiri Hills
I had been on a family event to Yelagiri hills, around 4 hours drive from Chennai. There is not a whole lot of things to do as the town (called Athanur) is rather small. The weather can get a bit hot in peak summer but cools down almost immediately through rain showers. There is a lake and a few other scenic spots around the hills and on the way up. Though commercialization has not yet been...
