Chennai Auto-Rickshaw Drivers - The Other Side

Auto-rickshaw drivers in Chennai are known for their brash behaviour and exorbitant fare demands. But there is another side to them - they are great traffic regulators, better than the lazy/greedy traffic police constables. They can be seen in action frequently just after the Medley Subway in T.Nagar and sometimes below the Kodambakkam bridge. With their intervention, the traffic gets cleared in a third of the time it would have taken otherwise.

This is probably one of the auto-rickshaw drivers’ ways of giving something back to the society, to the roads they use.
