Yelagiri Hills

I had been on a family event to Yelagiri hills, around 4 hours drive from Chennai. There is not a whole lot of things to do as the town (called Athanur) is rather small. The weather can get a bit hot in peak summer but cools down almost immediately through rain showers. There is a lake and a few other scenic spots around the hills and on the way up. Though commercialization has not yet been widespread, the area is seeing some development with new parks being reopened and the laying of fresh roads.

The hills are ideal for a short getaway or leisurely events such as family gatherings or social meets.
