It has been common knowledge that the auto-drivers in Chennai were the worst of their species. Not anymore. Bangalorean autowallahs have taken the top (bottom?) spot now.
No auto-driver in any city refuses a ride to railway stations or airports since there are almost guaranteed passengers there. Not so in Bangalore. 4-5 Bangalore auto-drivers refused to come to the City Railway Station yesterday afternoon. And I have been told that this is not uncommon. Since it was raining heavily at that time, going by two-wheeler was difficult. But after 20 minutes of waiting in the rain, I decided that it was enough and went by two-wheeler. And thankfully, the rain too stopped.
Chennai auto-drivers: please remind me not to curse you so much next time you haggle, you folks at least agree to the commute!
