text 3 Nov Food for the soul

My roommate returned back to India for good and I am now all alone in the apartment. I reckon this is a good opportunity to introspect myself and clean up my soul. Its Ramzaan anyway and its time to humble one’s self and show remembrance to Allah in more ways than one. The rewards are multiplied in this month and most importantly, Shaitaan is locked up somewhere. So its just our “Nafs” to contend with.

As I was looking for serene and divine stuff to feed my spiritual self, I came across this marvellous site belonging to Harun Yahya. Adnan Oktar who uses Harun Yahya as a pen name is an intellect who has intense knowledge of Islam and Science. He has written many books on the holy Quran and science, and refutes the Darwin’s theory, Atheism and other such Non-Islamic subjects with convincing proofs. Documentary films that are based on these books, available for download, have been nicely made. The site needs to be visited regularly as it is constantly being updated.

The other nice site that I found was Reciter.org. This site is flash based and contains an application that allows us to listen to the recitation of the Quran while the verse being read is highlighted. There are various options such as changing the reciter’s name, choosing the Surah, the pause time between each verse and the number of times a verse needs to be recited. This site needs to be on the browser favourites of all the faithful Momeens who have a decent Internet connection.
