text 8 Nov A gratifying Jummah

Today was a good day for me. I went to the Jummah prayer when a former colleague and good friend came to pick me up in his car. Its been a while since I went to the mosque due to the lack of a car and a driving license. I have been praying for the last few months at home. Just to get the feel of Jummah, I listen to the Khutba from Haram Sharif, Makkah through the Saudi site on the net and then offer the Zuhr prayer. Today, I felt elated at the mosque praying with the congregation. The Khutbah was on the importance of greeting people with Salaam. It was very informative and conveyed the message well. I hope I do not forget to say Salaam whenever I meet people (Muslims).

Just before the end of the day, there was some material gain too, I got my promotion letter from my office back in India. In retrospective, it was an immensely satisfying Jummah. Insha Allah all forthcoming Jummahs will be as gratifying as today. Ameen.
