I was watching a film based on the book “Collapse of Darwinism” by Harun Yahya . It was excellent and exposed the various flaws in the theory. This is one of the celebrated theories which neither has any basis nor any proofs till date. The foundation of this theory is that living creatures evolved from non-living things by co-inicidence! Experiments to substantiate this claim were made to show that if meat or such food items (non-living things) were left exposed for a period of time, larvae (living creatures) develop. But it was later found that the larvae actually developed from eggs dropped by flies.

The theory says that every living creature evolved from another e.g. The giraffe evolved from the deer when as a deer it tried to reach out the higher branches of a tree and its neck expanded. And many such preposterous examples - some birds evolved from reptiles and some mammal from fish. If this were true, fossils that have been excavated by paleontologists would’ve shown the existence of the intermediate forms of the animals that were evolving. But none have surfaced thus far. And if we were to trace the evolution to the outright beginnning we would reach the cell, the smallest living organism. Now how did the cell come into existence? Where did it evolve from? Darwin does not answer these fundamental questions in his theory.

Finally, the myth that man evolved from monkeys has not been proven so far. Other than drawings that’ve been carved out of fantasy, there has been no real proof for this statement. The Neanderthal man’s skull which was presented in 1856 as a proof was refuted in 1960 and two other “proofs” whose details I do not remember, were dismissed subsequently. It was observed that the neanderthal man’s skull easily matched that of a chimpanzee!

Unfortunately, despite the dismissals, the theory has made it to the text books of children world wide and they are forced to learn it. If the educationists do not want to remove the theory from the books, the least they could do is to add text at the end mentioning that the theory is no longer valid (just as they did for the ‘Earth is flat’ theory), thus reducing the confusion in the children’s (and some teachers’) minds.

To conclude, this theory is as ridculous as the theory that belived that the earth was flat. There are some Neo-Darwinists though who are still in search of proofs to substantiate this theory and I am sure they will continue searching in vain for the rest of their lives.
