I’ve bought a new toy, a PocketPC, HP iPAQ 1945. And I’ve been spending time tweaking and installing stuff on it for the past few days. For the record, I’ve owned two Palm PDAs, a Palm m105 and a HandSpring Visor Edge. I’ve had fairly good experiences with both of them but decided to give the Pocket PC a try and find out if all the hype surrounding it had any substance. I guess I’d be able to judge over a period of time.
One remarkable thing that I was able to do with the iPAQ was to connect to the Internet through a PC’s Internet connection. I connected the synchronization cable to the PC (which had the Internet connection) and was able to browse sites on the Pocket Internet Explorer. I am aware that there is no advantage in doing this, but it nevertheless satisfies the geek in me :-)
