text 31 Mar Elections in India

The Parliamentary elections in India are round the corner. Everyday there is news of a film star or a famous personality joining a party. Suddenly, Muslims come into the picture as they are nothing but a vote bank. The people who destroyed Muslim homes a couple of years back, talk about communal harmony.

The BJP has remained a right wing party throughout with elements of the Sangh parivar always on the loose. The Congress has not been any better. Projecting a secular face, in more occassions than one, it has always been a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Sonia, in my opinion, does not make the grade as a leader of the masses, and it would be better, if she does not contest the election or pine for a PM position.

There is really nothing much for the man on the street but if a right wing party wins by a majority, then there would be cause for concern.
