I have been using Mozilla FireFox for over 6 months now, initially as a backup browser or just for the sake of trying out an alternative. But last month, I made it the default browser, leaving IE (Internet Explorer to the uninitiated) to browse only Microsoft sites such as Outlook Web Access and the ones heavy on ActiveX.
Why did I ditch IE? The answer is common knowledge now - the spyware that comes through it. Irritating popups, pop-unders and sickly toolbars. I have seen them all.
The new version of IE has a popup blocker (did I hear FireFox users say been there done that) but only that it does not block all popups. And to get the updated version, you need to update your OS with XP SP2. What? to get a new version of a browser, one has to update the OS?? Thanks, but no thanks.
IE, rest in peace.
