Its been raining in Chennai lately, especially in the nights and very heavily too. This is kind of odd as July is not supposed to be a monsoon month. But no one ‘s complaining as the weather has become cooler and more importantly the rains ensure that there is sufficient water supply for the city in the next few months.

In the meanwhile, I’ve managed to watch a few movies - Chandramukhi and D (yes that is the name of the movie). Contrary to my expectations, Chandramukhi has been directed and presented well. I was a bit skeptic about the movie but after watching it all my doubts were laid to rest. Rajini after a long time, has done a toned down role sans all his usual style and it goes well with the entire theme of the movie. Jothika is very impressive and this performance, in my opinion, is her best till date. A must watch for people interested in paranormal behaviour.

‘D’ is a Ram Gopal Verma production directed by one of his proteges. The movie is about the Mumbai Underworld (I have a passion for underworld movies) and also touches upon human feelings such as jealousy and deceit. It is a passable movie at best as it brings nothing new.
