text 5 Nov Eid day

Eid was celebrated yesterday (Friday, November 4th 2005) after the customary sighting of the moon on the previous evening. This marked the end of a month full of restraint and prayers, in which we Muslims believe that the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh).

After the special congregational prayers and exchanging of pleasantries, I slept for about 4 hours as there were frequent irritant bouts of rain, making going out a pain. Of course, not before I had the customary Biryani for lunch. And yes, it was very well cooked too!
