Food is a major problem if you do not eat chicken, pork or beef. Only the name of the food is in English (which is sometimes just the brand name) so it is difficult to tell what it contains. The contents and everything else is in Japanese. A colleague who knows Japanese and has been staying here for long helped me get some seafood and vegetarian stuff.
I had Sushi during one of the lunches, which was quite good, contrary to what I had expected. It came with Wasabi sauce, which was quite spicy. I had boiled fish on sesame sauce during a dinner, which tasted like some chinese dishes served in India. It was not spicy though. The best lunch I’ve had so far is Shrimp Tempura with Rice. Tempura are like “bajjis”, fried on a batter and very crispy. They were oily but tasty. The rice served here is sticky but does your stomach no harm.
At other times, I had cold noodles which were edible, McDonalds Fish Burgers and some microwavable stuff (Sambar Rice, Pongal etc) that I brought from home.
